• Born in Germany, 1933.Studied at The Academy of Visual Arts, Berlin (lettering design, painting, graphics, typography and calligraphy) 1950-1957.Married and came to Canada in 1957. With Christine raised three children in Vancouver, BC. Worked as designer for graphic and 3d design firms. Taught at The Vancouver School of Art, The Vancouver College of Art and Design, School of Architecture UBC, The Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, 1958-1998. Solo exhibitions of paintings and drawings in local public and commercial galleries. Participated in national and international group shows and travelling exhibitions of fine and applied art and design (painting, calligraphy, medallic art). Commissions for major art and design projects (murals, Vancouver street banners, postage stamp-, coin-, book-, typeface designs and calligraphy). Won awards in international design competitions (typefaces Vivaldi, Magnificat a.o.) and national competitions (coin and medal designs for the Calgary Olympic Games). Taught workshops in West Vancouver, BC and Whistler, BC (painting), and at The Emily Carr Institute, Vancouver, BC (lettering and calligraphy). Work published in national and international publications. Listed in Canadian Who's Who and Who's Who in American Art. Member of the Royal Canadian Academy. Lives in North Vancouver, BC
