Still Life By Brenda Webber Morrison

• Brenda Morrison was born and raised in England where she received a five-year scholarship to Bournemouth College of Art. After study there she lived and painted in France before returning to England and further studies at the London School of Art. This was followed by travels around Europe before she finally settled in Carmel. She was juried in as a member of the CAA in 1977 and served several terms as president of the Board of Directors.
• Brenda was an avid gardener who used the flowers she grew for her still lifes in oil. Her contemporary genre paintings focused on inviting, everyday scenes and peaceful, domestic settings devoid of the people whom her viewers always sensed were standing just out of view. All of her work including her landscapes and seascapes emphasized rich colour and design.
• Brenda passed away on June 10, 2020.
