Coast Consignment Styled by Shannon Williams Interiors

This week we were joined by Shannon Williams, an amazing interior stylist and longtime client of Coast Consignment. Recently she joined Tina Hamlin to talk style and design, but this time she styled a set of three mini vignettes in our showroom. Shannon did an amazing job of picking out some show-stopping items from our showroom and mixing them together to create a cohesive look that anyone could enjoy. The versatility of these vignettes is my favourite part, as these items could fit into anyone’s home or interior style. The best part? With all these pieces being found at Coast Consignment, you know they will be at a much affordable price than retail or other second hand retailers like First Dibs.

I got the chance to ask Shannon some questions about her vignette like the inspiration, her favourite pieces, and who she styled the space for.

Coast Consignment: Can you describe the vignette? The style, the inspo, etc.

Shannon: This is a collection of items in the store that I felt complemented each other. I wanted to create small samples of rooms where these items can be used. For example, the first room is a living space, the second is a dining room, and the third is an office which are all key rooms that we have in our homes today. I wanted to showcase these items from the showroom to show these items can not only look beautiful in your home, but they’re functional as well.

Did you have a plan coming in before styling this rom? Were you inspired by the pieces in the showroom?

Yes, I did have a plan. I always want to create small spaces that speak to everyday people, where these [pieces] can be used and that can complement each other. Like for example, in the living room; the art and the lamp complement each other and it’s possible to mix eras and styles.

I also wanted to showcase that these items were all in the showroom and wanted to create a space that was cohesive and functional. The showroom itself has so many great options. I just choose the items that worked best with each other. Call it “design with function”.

Is there a certain style or colour that you find yourself drawn to more often?

I always have a colour palette when designing a space, as it sets the tone and guide to a cohesive room. I like to have at least 5 colours in a design story. It just helps the room flow and it also helps when purchasing items. If you stay within the colour story you’re sure to have a beautiful room.

Can you pick out a few favourite pieces from this vignette?

What kind of person or home do you think would have this space?

I really wanted to reach out to everyone with these three vignettes. I have a mix of everything. Mid-mod in the living room, contemporary/modern/vintage in the dining room, and the office is modern that speaks to a younger crowd.

My number one goal with designing these vignettes is using the current items in the store and showing people how you can mix old and new, modern and vintage, and how beautiful they can look together.

We’re so grateful for Shannon for coming in and taking the time put together these vignettes. Make sure to follow Shannon on Instagram and follow us to stay updated on more collaborations.
