Due to the nature of consignment, we receive furniture and home decor pieces in all sorts of shapes, styles, and colours. Everyone has an idea of what they would like to see in their home and they may scour stores, magazines, and websites to find that perfect piece. If that item doesn’t work out or it’s time to move on, that perfect piece may come to us. We’ve received items from all over the world, from many different brands, and from many different time periods. So not only do our customers get to shop all kinds of different pieces in one place, but shop them at great prices.

However often customers, both new and old, ask us about an item’s brand and if that means anything special. It’s hard to keep track of all the brands to look out for, so we’ve put together a brand info guide that features some of our favourite brands and the ones to keep an eye out for. This list includes a bit of background information on the brand, the original retail prices, and their showstopping pieces.

American Leather

• About: Founded in Dallas, Texas in 1990, American Leather has set the industry standard for custom furniture with expert craftsmanship, sustainability initiatives, and a commitment to their American roots. Hand-made in their state-of-the-art warehouse in Dallas, you can be assured you are getting a beautiful piece that lasts.

• Perfect For: Any style!
• Look Out For: Their sofa beds! The most comfortable sofa bed you will ever own, your guests will thank you.

Article 🍁

• About: Launching in 2013, Article is an online-only furniture and home decor brand based in Vancouver, BC – just recently opening their first showroom in Strathcona. They offer an extensive catalogue of beautiful items at great prices.
• Retail Range: C$150-4,000
• Perfect For: Mainly modern and contemporary styles, with mid-century modern influences
• Look Out For: Their ‘Sven’ sofas which come in fabric upholstery, velvet, and leather each in a variety of colours. They also have many modern and sleek dressers & night stands, as well as great outdoor furniture options.

Bernhardt

• About: Founded over 130 years ago in 1889, Bernhardt has grown to be the USA’s largest family-owned furniture company as well as a leading furniture manufacturer in the global market. Characterized as “affordable luxury” their use of unique materials and elevated design makes Bernhardt furnishing recognizable worldwide. Today they are based in Lenoir, North Carolina with six overseas offices and sales representatives in over 50 countries.
• Retail Range: C$3,000-8,000
• Perfect For: Any style, but leans more contemporary
• Look Out For: Anything! These pieces are rare in-store and go fast when we get them.

BnB Italia

• About: Established in 1966, B&B Italia has built its success on the ability to represent contemporary culture through design. From the beginning, B&B Italia has availed itself to some of the most prestigious international designers and together have made significant contributions to design culture. Headquarters and main manufacturing facilities are located in Italy.
• Retail Range: C$2,000-40,000
• Perfect For: Luxury modern and contemporary homes
• Look Out For: Sofas and armchairs – many of their pieces were pioneers in design.

BOCCI 🍁

• About: Classified as a ‘multidisciplinary design studio’ BOCCI specializes in sculptural and unique lighting fixtures. Founded in 2005, each piece is handcrafted therefore unique with no two products being exactly alike. While headquartered in Vancouver, BOCCI operates spaces in Milan and Berlin to share work and spark imagination.

• Perfect For: Modern and contemporary homes or anyone looking for a unique lighting fixture
